The thing about Yearly that drew me in immediately was the interface. Noidentity is the developer behind other beautiful apps (MoneyBook, ListBook, and BudgetBook), so it’s no surprise that they created another stunningly gorgeous interface. The visuals in Yearly are just pixel perfect, and I’m not sure I’d want it any other way.

Yearly serves to help you remember when those annual events are. You would think that this would require use of the default Calendar on your iPhone, but Yearly actually uses the data from your iPhone’s address book instead. That’s right – any date that is associated with a contact in your address book will be put in to Yearly.

Oink by Milk Inc. is the first app from the new startup founded by Kevin Rose. In short, Oink is an app that allows users to rate and rank things around them, rather than just an overall place.

The biggest thing that drew me into this app (since I learned of its existence) was the interface. Put simply, it’s just beautiful. Everything about it is slick, and it’s also extremely fast. Whenever something is loading, you will be notified by the small bar at the top with a green orb that goes back and forth, and the entire thing just fades away when new data is loaded. I guess this replaces that spinner that we’ve all grown to love (or hate), which is a nice change and much appreciated. Clearly, the folks behind the development of this app didn’t skimp out on detail.

iPhone 5 was Steve Jobs’ last big Apple project

The fabled iPhone 5 — or whatever Apple ends up calling its follow-up to the iPhone 4S — may be Steve Jobs’ last hurrah, according to Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar.

As CNet reports, Kumar wrote in a research note last week that the next iPhone “was the last project that Steve Jobs was intimately involved with from concept to final design. For that reason…this product will establish the high water mark for iPhone volumes.”

He goes on to say that the iPhone 5 will have a thinner design and larger screen — a mantra we’ve heard repeated ad nauseam over the last year. Some very dedicated Apple fans ended up creating a realistic-looking mockup of the iPhone 5, based on a multitude of specs leaked online.

If true, it means that all of the iPhone 5 rumors we’ve been bombarded with weren’t exactly false, they were just a year early. Kumar also notes that the iPhone 5 is expected to include LTE 4G technology — something that wasn’t possible this year since LTE chipsets are still power hogs, and LTE networks (aside from Verizon) are still getting off the ground.

This may sound like the beginning of yet another run of iPhone 5 rumors, but there’s plenty of reason to believe that the iPhone 5 could be something new entirely. The redesigned iPhone 4 followed the iPhone 3GS, and I think Apple will have a hard time marketing a flagship smartphone next year without increasing its screen size.

CNet’s Brooke Crothers corroborates the report, citing sources who say that the iPhone 5 is indeed a “complete redesign.” The sources say that Jobs spent much of his time over the last year developing the device, and because of that he wasn’t very involved in the iPhone 4S’s release.

I have a hard time imagining that Jobs wasn’t involved in the integration of Siri in the iPhone 4S though, since it embodies his philosophy of easy-to-use technology that ends up feeling magical.

Processor: iPhone 4S has the same A5 core processor in the iPad. Most reviewers said they noticed an immediate difference. Playing games is very fluid. and the processor upgrade is “huge, because it can easily handle Apple’s more advanced technology like its voice assistant, Siri.”

Camera: The camera is another key new feature on the iphone 4s. While most only had a brief amount of time playing with the new 8MP sensor, reviewers said that the camera was a definite improvement. “The camera really does stand out here,”

Siri:   Siri can listen to your “natural language” (that is, words spoken as you would to another human, not a computer) questions or requests and respond like a digital secretary. It’s not just that Siri listens, either. The software is capable of understanding the context of what you’re talking about, so if you ask it to set an alarm on your phone, it will ask you for what time. And again, you don’t. Have. To. Talk. Really. Slowly.

According to the customers' responce, some analysts presume iPhone 4S sales number won't be Apple hoping. Tim doesn't have the guts to make the ridiculously arrogant move which Jobs probably would have: Steve would have called this new iPhone the “iPhone 5″ even though it physically looks exactly like the iPhone 4. Whatever the features are, the customers will buy an so-called iPhone 5 more crazily.

On the other hand, though a whole lot more people would be gearing up to use the new “Siri” voice assistant feature, which Apple is clearly proud of. But Siri is a asinine name. Steve Jobs would have called it “iAssist” or something more clever. And despite the tremendous amount of critical flack from inside the tech beltway he would have taken for doing so, Jobs would have referred to this new iPhone 4S instead as “the new iPhone 5″ because that’s what would have worked best.
